Frieren is a mage who, together with the hero Himmel and their party, defeats the Demon King after a ten–year journey and brings peace to the world. As an elf who can live for more than a thousand years, she leaves her human companions after the victory, promising to see them again someday.
Fifty years later, Frieren visits Himmel. For her, almost nothing has changed. For Himmel, however, most of his life has already passed, and he is close to the end. When Himmel finally dies, Frieren realizes how little she understood about humans and how shallowly she had watched their lives. Regretting this, she decides to go on a new journey “to get to know people.”
